The NBA Finals were a battle of the titans, with the Warriors and Cavs playing out an epic seven game series. Steph Curry was phenomenal throughout, but LeBron James held his own.
I Feel Like He Has to Step up More Than He Has is a short article about the Detroit Pistons’ Reggie Jackson.
Dan Campbell, the Detroit Lions’ first-year head coach, cried for his squad following yet another unbelievable last-second defeat a little over a week ago. Following a devastating 34-11 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6, Campbell took to the postgame microphone with a new attitude. This time, he was enraged with his teammates and sent an unkind message to Jared Goff, their starting quarterback.
In 2021, the Detroit Lions are suffering.
The Lions are not just the only winless club in the NFL (0-6), but they also have the fourth most difficult schedule remaining (.569 opponent win pct).

No one anticipated the Detroit Lions to be successful in 2021 after selling veteran franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford in the summer. During the first five weeks of the NFL season, the club, rather than being a basement-dwelling bottom-feeder, played the role of plucky underdog.
In Week 1, the team rallied late to beat the San Francisco 49ers by one point, and in Week 2, they battled with the Green Bay Packers for a half before falling 35-17. They lost on an NFL-record 66-yard field goal in Week 3 and then fell on another late FG to the Minnesota Vikings following a division defeat to the Chicago Bears.
The squad didn’t seem really hopeless until last week. Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Joe Mixon torched the Lions, while QB Jared Goff and the offense were unable to keep up.
Goff completed 28 of 42 passes for 202 yards and an interception, but the team only gained 36 yards on the ground.
Dan Campbell’s tone in the postgame presser shifted as a result of this performance. The former NFL tight end took a different approach only a week after passionately applauding his team’s battle. He praised all of his players for their efforts and issued a warning to his starting quarterback.
This week isn’t going to be any easier for Campbell, Goff, or the Lions. The club is set to face Stafford and the 5-1 Los Angeles Rams in Week 7.
After yet another defeat, Dan Campbell chastised his quarterback.
The aftermath of the Lions’ defeat These days, Dan Campbell’s press briefings are more interesting than most Lions games. During these postgame therapy sessions, the coach puts his emotions on his sleeve and doesn’t hold back.
Campbell delivered a message to his struggling quarterback, Jared Goff, this week following the humiliating defeat to the Bengals.
In response to a question regarding the quarterback’s performance, Campbell said that “we can’t properly evaluate him one way or the other yet.” He did, however, provide a stern warning, which Goff no sure took note of:
This is what I’ll say. I believe [Goff] has to do a better job than he has thus far. And I believe he, like everyone else, must assist us. And he’ll have to put some weight on his shoulders here, so it’s time for him to step up and make some throws and do some things.
On Jared Goff, Dan Campbell
That isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement from the former No. 1 overall pick’s head coach. At 0-6, Campbell’s forthrightness regarding his team’s signal-caller issue may indicate that a change is on the way.
Perhaps even soon.
Is it possible for Campbell to put Jared Goff on the bench?

If Campbell, the Ford family, and Detroit Lions supporters were being totally honest, the team’s early-season defeats would be perfect.
When a club is stripped down to the studs and rebuilt, the most you can hope for is a competitive, entertaining squad that loses as many games as possible in order to get the desired No. 1 draft selection.
This accurately depicts the Lions up to their game against the Bengals in Week 7. The Lions seemed to be a dismal team capable of achieving the worst-case scenario: shattering their own NFL record by finishing 0-17.
Campbell may turn to backup quarterback David Blough to go back to the former Lions rather than the latter. The Purdue third-year quarterback gained notoriety this summer as a result of his wife, Melissa Gonzalez, who represented Colombia in the 400-meter hurdles at the Tokyo Olympics.
On the field, the Lions used the former undrafted free agent to start the last five games of the season when Matthew Stafford and backup Jeff Driskel were injured. He was 94-of-174 (54 percent) for 984 yards, four touchdowns, and six interceptions in these starts.
Blough may not be better than Goff, but the longer the Lions’ record has a zero as the first digit, the less Campbell and the Lions have to lose by giving the backup a chance. If Goff loses his job in Detroit, it will almost certainly be the end of his once-promising NFL career.

Dan Campbell, the head coach of the Detroit Lions, begins his day with an ungodly amount of caffeine.
