Now you can hide visual effects for certain legendary items in Guild Wars 2. The announcement was made on the official website and will be available to players with a free subscription or those who bought it within its first week of release.
The “gw2 legendary armory” is a new feature in today’s patch that allows players to hide the visual effects for certain legendary trinkets.
I don’t know about you, but nothing dampens my enthusiasm for a new shiny faster than some unnecessary particle effects that flow from my character’s body; I don’t need my shoulderpads to spill with energy like a poorly sealed nuclear reactor to know that I’ve received a stats increase. A lot of Guild Wars 2 players apparently felt the same way about the visual effects of the Aurora, Vision, and Coalescence legendary trinkets, which were added in July’s Legendary Armory update, and urged the developers to provide a button to turn them off. Players will be able to do precisely that with today’s patch.
Players may now simply click checkboxes on or off while donning the aforementioned trinkets, increasing or deleting the trinkets’ contribution to the buff stack, which decides which effect is shown on their character. ArenaNet explains that this is now feasible thanks to changes in the team’s handling of the stacking buff issue, which gave the developers time to implement this feature.
Today’s patch should also make the next free episode of Visions of the Past, Steel and Fire, available for download, so if you’ve been collecting all the free Living World content, don’t forget to do so this week.
