With Season 7 of “Fear the Walking Dead” underway, showrunners have been playing coy about what will happen. The latest episode saw a major divide between Alicia and Strand as he showed up to her home with his son.

The “fear the walking dead cast” is a show about two families struggling to survive in a world overrun by zombies. The show’s seventh season has been marred with controversy, as one of the characters was killed off and another character left the show.

On Fear the Walking Dead, Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) states of the unforgivable murder that ended his relationship with Alicia Clark (Alycia Debnam-Carey), “She won’t have anything to do with me after this.” Season 7 Episode 1, “The Beacon,” contains spoilers. Strand’s death damages the link between Victor and Alicia, the closest thing he has to family, when he shoves Will (Gus Halper) over the top of The Tower, which is prospering in the aftermath of the nuclear zombie apocalypse. But for the crafty conman turned anointed community leader, who has been pushing Alicia away since Season 6, it’s a fresh beginning.

“I believe that Alicia and Strand’s connection is influenced by their shared background. They’ve known each other since the show’s first season. They’ve both gone through a lot and lost a lot of people, so they’ve been through a lot together “Andrew Chambliss, co-showrunner, said AMC.com. “Strand sees Alicia as the closest thing he has to family in many respects, and I don’t believe he enjoys the idea that he has a soft place for her. As we saw in Episode 1, he sees it as a flaw, and seeks to manipulate events such that Alicia never returns and gets in the way of what he’s attempting to do in the Tower.”

“The Beacon” shows a past between Alicia and the outcast Will, who is looking for a way back into the subterranean bunker where maniac Teddy Maddox (John Glover) imprisoned Alicia to lead his “new beginning” fueled by nuclear weapons. Alicia and Teddy’s followers, on the other hand, had vanished from the bunker under The Franklin Hotel, presumably on their way to “Padre.”

Strand informs Will before he kills him: “You can’t be powerful if you have too many attachments. They will annihilate you.” To entice walkers in and keep everyone else out, he lights a beacon atop his Tower. Especially Alicia.

“It’s not as simple as he thinks,” Chambliss hinted, “and Strand’s relationship to Alicia goes deeper than I believe he would have thought.”

Strand chooses to do away with Will and surround himself with an army of the undead after risking his life in a walker-filled fog, according to co-showrunner Ian Goldberg on the newest edition of Fear TWD Episode Insider.

“That is, in the end, why he decides not to bring Alicia to the top. And, in reality, to do anything, to do this heinous crime of murdering Would, will assure that Alicia will refuse to have anything to do with him, “According to Goldberg. “That’s Strand’s Darth Vader moment, when he decides to sever this link in his heart for the sake of his power and to defend what he’s established.”

Strand has “become everything he always wanted to be,” according to Chambliss, but he’s left atop The Tower “wondering precisely what it cost him.” “It may have cost him the person he loves about the most, and when we see him standing up there with all the dead walkers coming towards the tower, it’s sort of a metaphor for who he is – someone who has drove all the live people away from him and is now surrounded by death and ruin.”
